No Country For This Art

It has been more than a year since I wrote, I lost touch and haven't been able to write or maybe I just couldn't find time for it. Between texts and emails, I forgot about this blog. But I am back as I had an experience which I want to share with all of you.

On 7th Nov'19 I visited my sister along with my wife and my mother, she lives in Saket. So we went out with intentions to go to the mall for the movie but on our way, I saw a gate that said "Asiad Circus" and show times were also mentioned. It was 15 minutes before the next show so I convinced everyone to watch the circus instead of the movies.

When we went in, I was surprised to see only 20-something people in the entire facility. The number of guys selling coke, eateries, and staff who manage props in real-time was more than us.

Every time a performer came he/she waived but no one waived back to them, they did a brilliant job but people did not clap (I clapped many times) I could feel what a person might think performing in a large arena with a handful number of people that too were not participating, It was awkward for me at many instances. At one point in a performance, a Dog was supposed to pick up the number with input from the audience, they asked many times to give them a number but no one did, even I did not(Don't know why). The guy selling popcorn yelled "5" the dog picked number 5.

Talking about performances, they were brilliant, risky, and courageous. But it's a shame that a person who puts in this kind of hard work is not getting any audience/encouragement.

I don't remember all performances as I had not planned to write a blog on this, nor did I capture pics of all acts but to summarize, it began with a good trapeze performance, and it also had that classic midget pants-pulling trick in the air. They all jumped in the net at the end, great landing by all. Then came the juggler who was also good, Russian artists presented a few acts that were different and you can say innovative, they were also encouraging people to engage with the performance via clapping. Few really good cycle tricks. The man with fire tricks, a man with water tricks, a girl with the ball in a basket, and a girl dancing with hula hoops. Dogs and Birds show. 3 bikes in a sphere. There are many more I need help remembering, attaching pics for your reference.

In the end, you must go and see such shows once in a while, not out of pity but out of respect for the talent these people have. Hats Off,

Share water with Birds/Animals

It's really hot weather and we all are comfy inside our home because we are humans, our ancestors gave us the gift of advancement. We have technology, we have access to cold air and water, but what about those birds and animals who live in the city. They don't have any natural resource of water here in the city, they don't always get shelter in the hot burning afternoon. As a capable human it's our responsibility to share the basic resources with them just like the nature has shared it with us.

I felt this urge to help them birds because I just saw them drinking water from a pot my father leaves for them everyday.
Like 20 minutes ago I went outside to see how hot it is, It's very bad out there, I saw a crow and some other birds drinking water from the same pot. It got me thinking that what if some animal or bird needs water badly but is so weak that it can't fly or walk, what about them ? They will just die, because it's a city, people are busy, they have stuff to do and later they will relax with a coke in hand watching TV, they don't bother if a bird lives or dies. Even me, just today it hit me that what am I doing to help them ? Where was I before ? or Where are you now ?

For the love of GOD please go outside, make some arrangements so that a bird can have some water, trust me it will pay you back with a nice gesture.

Dilli Bole Dil se, No More Odd Even fir se.

So the second part of Delhi's Odd-Even has finished and we all sincerely hope it does not comes back.
If you live in Delhi, you would know how it feels to see Kejriwal's face on entire public property in Delhi. Our hard-earned tax money is used to put up a poster to promote something that no one wants but has to comply with because, in the end, no one wants to pay a 2000 rs fine for this stupid thing. And at the end they say it's a success, I don't know what formula on earth they use to calculate the success rate. But I have not seen one person who is happy with this. If you are a CM then you need to work on empowering the city and not taking the hard-earned luxury from people. People work hard to earn these luxuries and they deserve to own and drive the vehicle they want, the government should be making more roads using the money we pay as tax, instead, that money is being used to put posters all over the city, buses. Take a 5-minute walk anywhere in Delhi you will see a poster of Odd-Even.
And the air pollution % from cars is very small, so cut this reason out.

I am not against anybody,
But I do not feel this is a good idea to tell someone you cannot use your(earned) machine/gadget because the government tells you.
This is the beginning of a Dictatorship.
