Antivirus Review.

I do not pass my judgement on anything unless I really like it or really hate it. Same goes for the people I see everyday.

Today I would like to share my views on the antivirus I am using and how it is better than the one I was using before.
If you use internet at home then you must have a good and updated antivirus. The first antivirus I used was Bitdefender and it was a great software, its logo is really intriguing. I used it for 2 years, then recently when the subscription expired I decided to switch to some other software that provides security for all my devices along with PC, So I bought McAfee Antivirus Plus. Its really great, you can connect all your smartphones, tablets and PC with just one subscription. Although its doesn't provide a special feature designed for financial transactions, like Bitdefender had Safepay. But overall its a great software you should totally go for it next time your antivirus expires. But do check out the system requirements before buying it.

Cybersecurity is very important.

A Squirrel bit my toe.

I woke up around 9am and was sitting outside watching birds and peacocks (if you know me then you know we have lots of them here) I saw a Squirrel near me moving quickly to different trees. It came near my feet, I though its harmless as I have never heard it can cause harm. The next thing I know it grabbed my toe and bit me. I was shaken by this behavior of a Squirrel. It did not bleed or anything but now I know that these things bite.

Just like in our life, we see, assume a lot of things and believe that it can't do you no harm but nothing is certain in this life my friend. Its not that this squirrel thing made me a different person but I was thinking about events going in my life right now and was planning to make them better and then it bit me. Making me realize that we can never know for sure what's going to happen. One day you are happy for your achievements and then the other day you are miserable due to your failures. The point I want to make here is don't take things for granted and never plan too ahead of time.
You will never know what's going to hit you.

Regards
The guy who got bit by a squirrel.

Leadership Superpowers

Just like our body parts have different functions, the employees in an organization have different functions too. Some build, some test, some implement, some maintain etc etc. But most crucial and important role I believe is of the leader of the organization. I'm talking about the CEOs, Vice Presidents, people who matter and make decisions that millions of employee follow without any question. The Leader is the one who drives the complete work/project and delivers extraordinary results. The competition is very tough upstairs. Hence it is important for a leader to maintain the position and cut the revolt which may rise from inside or out. These people reach the heights through their natural talent and hard work. On their way to the top, they develop some powers which are must have to reach the throne and maintain the position. We can put these powers in many ways but I'll take 4 powers here as mentioned below.

1.) Intellectual Power
This is the power of knowledge which one develops throughout his career and keeps learning more and more. The highest paid executives are recognized on their knowledge basis. Ratan Tata also said, the most important thing is knowledge and the best part is, it is very easily available nowadays, thanks to internet. But one should be determined to have the knowledge and put every nerve in the body to learn it. The power of intellect helps the leader to make important decision and will develop an insightful approach towards the challenges he will face,

2.) Man Power
A leader must have resources. Employees are the man power, the higher the leadership role goes, the bigger man power he gets. Man power lets the leader accomplish bigger goals which are result of the team work. A huge dream/project requires a lot of hard work, with predefined goals and roles a good team can achieve miraculous targets.

3.) Financial Power
Financial power is something we all understand is mandatory.  A leader should have enough source of financial support in order to fulfill requirements of the staff and the organization. I wont write much in this part, everyone knows to run a business you need money.

4.) Power of enthusiasm and morale
This is the most important power a leader should have. The enthusiasm and morale drives employees to work twice as hard and deliver. The leader should not be too strict and not too lenient, the effect of a true leader lasts even after he is gone, workplace bullies should fear form him in his absence. The hard working people should be recognized and rewarded in order to do more. A true motivational leader can drive his team to do a lot more, it will lead to success for him and his team too.

Note :  If you deliver more than you are getting paid, eventually you will be paid more.

7th Pay Commission - Effect on private employees

Hi everyone,
Since this 7th pay commission announcement, I was thinking of writing a blog on it, and in my research I was amazed to find out the results.
Here I am sharing my findings with all of you.

Following the 7th Pay Commission report, there is a significant discontent among private sector employees , and employers are dealing with lowered motivation and performance levels, says a survey. Nearly 48 lakh central government employees and 55 lakh pensioners will be befitted by the recommendations made by the pay commission. This has triggered a widespread cry among private sector employees for pay parity.

Discontent among private sector employees:
According to a survey conducted by TimesJobs.com, after central employees bag 23.55 per cent salary hike, more than 70 per cent private sector employees regret working in the private sector.

What has surveyor's data revealed?
The discontent caused in the private sector by this performance-indiscriminate hike to central government employees is palpable. India Inc employers are having to face the brunt of this dissatisfaction with lowered motivation and performance levels.

Hike was 'unfair':
A large majority of respondents (68 per cent) felt that this hike was "unfair".
Another 47 per cent respondents believe the raise has no linkage to employee performance while 30 per cent feel the massive hike will eventually widen the public and private sector income disparity.

Who all are most disheartened:
While the disappointment with private sector pay scales was high across experience levels, entry-level employees were the most disappointed.

About 80 per cent junior/entry-level employees said they regretted having taken up jobs in the private sector, reveals the survey. Nearly 75 per cent middle and senior-level employees also shared similar sentiments.

"All (100 per cent) the professionals surveyed said private sector companies should increase minimum wages like the central government," the survey noted.

Private sector offers more room for career growth:
However, most private sector employees agreed that their jobs offered them more room for career growth. Close to 80 per cent employees think private sector jobs score better over government jobs given the opportunities for growth and job change. The survey covered over 700 professionals working in the private sector from across the country, who earn their increments based on their individual performance and contributions to the business.

7th Central Pay Commission recommendations:
The recommendations made by the 7th Central Pay Commission, headed by Justice A K Mathur, which submitted its report to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley are as follows:

  • 23.55 per cent increase in pay and allowances recommended
  • Recommendations to be implemented from January 1, 2016
  • Minimum pay fixed at Rs 18,000 per month; maximum pay at Rs 2.25 lakh
  • The rate of annual increment retained at 3 per cent 24 per cent hike in pensions
  • Ceiling of gratuity enhanced from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh; ceiling on gratuity to be raised by 25% whenever DA rises by 50%

With all being said on the subject, I feel its good that our government employees will get a good salary, I am happy for them and If you have read my previous blogs you would understand that success cannot be measured by this, one can find success in any environment. Work hard and learn whatever you can.

Crime Rate in Delhi 2001-2016 : Are we safe ?

New Delhi, Capital of our great nation India.
But is it getting treatment like the capital of such a huge nation. With majority of officials/politicians arguing on twitter, things are getting out of hands.
There are two kind of people in this world, one who appear in the news and other who watch the news. Its just a matter of fact that you can become a victim from a viewer. I did some research and found out what exactly is going on in Delhi.

In the image below you will find the statistics of crime rate in Delhi since 2001 which I got from the official Delhi Police Website and when you will check it out you will be surprised to see the jump in number of crimes.

Lets see some significant differences.
Dacoity 33 in 2013 but 82 in 2014 and 75 in 2015.
Attempt to murder 585 in 2013 and 770 each in 2014/15.
Robbery 1245 in 2013 and 6464 in 2014.
Rape 706 in 2012, 1636 in 2013 and 2166 in 2014.
Burglary 2835 in 2013 and 10309 in 2014.
Motor Vehicle Theft 14916 in 2013 and 23384 in 2014, 32729 in 2015.
Other Theft 11992 in 2013 and 42634 in 2014, 56385 in 2015.

Total IPC 80184 in 2013 and 155654 in 2014 and 191377 in 2015

We can see that things were kind of under control till 2013.
Above information clearly tells us that Delhi has a lot more issues and no one talks about it.
Our CM is busy messing with PM all the time, MLAs are getting arrested, who is going to stop all this ?

With all due respect to the Police Department, we sleep well in our houses knowing that we are safe because there's army at the border and there's police in the country.
Please Make things right.

Few facts about Delhi Police.
Police commissioner from June 2012 till  July 2013 was Neeraj Kumar.
Bhim Sain Bassi from July 2013 till February 2016.
Currently we have Alok Kumar Verma
Delhi Police has 70,000 Police Officers Excluding constable staff and head department.
180 Stations and surprisingly 1 Helicopter

Share water with Birds/Animals

It's really hot weather and we all are comfy inside our home because we are humans, our ancestors gave us the gift of advancement. We have technology, we have access to cold air and water, but what about those birds and animals who live in the city. They don't have any natural resource of water here in the city, they don't always get shelter in the hot burning afternoon. As a capable human it's our responsibility to share the basic resources with them just like the nature has shared it with us.

I felt this urge to help them birds because I just saw them drinking water from a pot my father leaves for them everyday.
Like 20 minutes ago I went outside to see how hot it is, It's very bad out there, I saw a crow and some other birds drinking water from the same pot. It got me thinking that what if some animal or bird needs water badly but is so weak that it can't fly or walk, what about them ? They will just die, because it's a city, people are busy, they have stuff to do and later they will relax with a coke in hand watching TV, they don't bother if a bird lives or dies. Even me, just today it hit me that what am I doing to help them ? Where was I before ? or Where are you now ?

For the love of GOD please go outside, make some arrangements so that a bird can have some water, trust me it will pay you back with a nice gesture.

Doing what you cannot do.

Please don't take the wrong message by the title, I do not mean you should do illegal things or wrong practices.

I'll rephrase a quote from Kung Fu Panda 3, Shifu says "If you only do what you can do you will never be more than who you are." Then again if you're happy with only what you can do then keep doing it. The work, the habits, the lifestyle these things determine what you can do or cannot do. There're a lot of people in this world and majority does stuff in conventional ways. Doing things differently makes us stand out of the crowd. If you're an employee and doing things that are assigned to you then you're only doing what you can do, but if you show a little more effort and give even more than expected then you'll climb that success ladder faster than your colleagues. But again it's not easy otherwise everyone could have done it. It takes much more and this applies in every field be it work or business. Going the extra mile, one more shot, when you're all done with push-ups but you do one more set anyways, that one extra set makes all the difference. So go for it don't sit your ass down watching cellphone or tv.
